CiRA classifies patient cohorts of diseases into eight types and provides iPS cells derived from patients with neurological and neurodegenerative diseases.
Patient-derived cells can be used for reproducing pathogenesis of the disease, developing new drugs and regenerative treatments, performing research in life sciences, and more.

iPS cell technology has made it possible to conduct research using cells which were previously impossible to obtain.
Many of the disease-specific iPS cells listed on this website were established with research funding from AMED. Therefore, if they are to be used, reviews and approvals by the ethics committees of Kyoto University and the institution to which the user belongs are required under discussion.
